Price index
DDR4 server memory price index
Weekly median price per gigabyte for DDR4 modules by module type and capacity, with quartiles, modules sold and deal counts. Built only from released protected-payment deals between verified businesses on Memory Traders.
No published DDR4 weeks yet
A weekly point publishes once at least 3 protected deals for the same generation, module type and capacity have been released to sellers in the same week and no outlier is unresolved. Nothing is estimated or scraped; the first points appear after the first 3 closed deals.
Methodology
- Source
- Released protected-payment deals on Memory Traders only: the buyer paid the platform, the seller shipped on our label, the buyer confirmed the count (or the confirmation window lapsed) and the funds were released. Nothing is estimated, scraped or self-reported.
- Period
- ISO weeks, Monday to Sunday, UTC, keyed by the release date of the order. Each week rolls up on Monday 02:00 UTC; staff can re-roll a week after an exclusion.
- Statistic
- For each generation (DDR3/DDR4/DDR5), module type (RDIMM, LRDIMM, UDIMM, SODIMM, NVDIMM) and capacity: the median, 25th and 75th percentile of hammer price ÷ (modules × GB per module), in US cents per GB, plus the modules sold and the number of deals.
- Outliers
- A deal is flagged when its $/GB falls outside the trailing eight published weeks' quartiles widened by 3 × the interquartile range. Flagged deals are excluded from the point and reviewed by staff, who can exclude a deal with a written reason; every decision is audited.
- Minimum deals
- A point publishes automatically with at least 3 deals in the week and no unresolved outlier. Thinner weeks stay unpublished; sellers see them as “not enough data” for their own inventory.
- Publication
- Staff may publish or unpublish a point with a reason (for example a week dominated by one buyer). Unpublished points never appear here, in the CSV or in the reserve suggestion. Members can download every published point as CSV.
