Buying

Bidding, registration and what you receive.

What is the confirmation window?

After delivery the buyer has three business days to count the modules and confirm receipt. A full count releases the funds to the seller. A short count opens a dispute automatically with the packed photo and the delivery record as evidence. If the buyer does nothing, the funds release when the window ends.

Selling

Listing, consignment, reserves and getting paid.

Who can bid and sell?

Everyone on the platform is a verified business. Level 1 means business details, EIN last four, a licence or resale certificate and automated checks; staff approve the same business day. Level 2 adds a bank account on file and one completed protected deal, and unlocks high-value auctions. Level 3, the inspected seller badge, goes to sellers whose consigned lots counted within 2% of what they declared. Buyers never see a seller's name unless the seller chooses to show it.

Money and fees

What it costs, when it is paid and where it sits in between.

What does it cost to sell?

Sellers pay a flat plan of $249 a month (or $199 a month billed annually) and a protected-payment fee of 1.5% of the hammer price, capped at $750 per sale, plus Stripe payout processing passed through at cost (0.25% + $0.25 on the amount released to you). There are no listing fees and no other success fees. Compare that with 7.5% on Tradeloop or around 13% on eBay. Buyers pay the hammer price plus shipping and insurance at cost; there is no buyer premium at launch. Card payments (orders under $5,000) carry a 2.9% + $0.30 card processing line; bank payments carry nothing.

How does protected payment work?

The buyer pays Memory Traders, not the seller. We hold the funds while the seller ships on our label and the buyer confirms the count on delivery. Once the buyer confirms, or the confirmation window lapses without a dispute, the funds release to the seller and the transfer goes out. If there is a problem, the funds stay with us until the dispute is decided. Nobody ships on a promise and nobody pays a stranger.

Where do the price index numbers come from?

The index is built only from completed protected deals on this platform: money moved and the buyer confirmed the count. Each week we publish the median and quartile price per gigabyte for each generation, module type and capacity with at least three deals, after removing statistical outliers. Nothing is estimated, scraped or self-reported. Members can download the data as CSV.

Shipping

Labels, packing, insurance and delivery.

How does shipping work?

Every sale ships on a FedEx label we issue, with direct signature required and declared-value insurance on larger orders. The seller packs in anti-static trays, photographs the packed box and ships within two business days of payment. Tracking posts to the order page for both parties. Buyers pay shipping at cost; sellers pay nothing to ship.

Disputes and problems

When a count is short or a lot is not what the page said.

What happens if there is a dispute?

Open the dispute from the order with photos and the count you received. The seller has two business days to respond, then our team decides within five business days on the evidence: a full refund, a full release, or a split. Either side can ask for a bench inspection; the report is binding and the $250 fee goes to the party the decision goes against. The money moves once, when the decision is made.
